Just Recently I’ve had a new carpet put in my studio apartment. After moving the bed out of the area where it once stood I’ve never put it back because in reality I need a new bed. Why put a 10 year old broken box spring and bed on a brand new carpet anyway? In the mean time I’ve been crashing on my new carpet with only a pillow and a comforter. After 2 weeks of doing this new sleeping method I never felt better! My back and legs feel stronger and I wake up feeling more refreshed. Perhaps sleeping on the floor is better than my old worn out bed, or sleeping on the floor is better for my body altogether?

When I was riding home from work this evening I felt a weird sensation coming from the sole of my right shoe. At first I thought my old timberland shoes were finally falling apart making my foot to slide off the petal, but as I look down to my surprise the pedal was bent. Being that I was approximately 6 miles away from home I really had no choice other than to ride the rest of the way. When I got nearly 3 blocks from my apartment the pedal finally pooped out of the crank arm rendering it useless. I tried to screw it back in the hole but the aluminum was so badly shredded it was totally imposable to fix. Walking that three blocks seemed forever as I was cursing to myself.

From what I can remember I did see a Shamano crank arm at Performance Bikes for about 100 dollars. My question is should I attempt to pull the crank arm off myself or have a mechanic do the job? Pulling and installing it looks pretty harmless and effortless if you have the correct crank puller. I’ll have to see the mechanic’s rates before I decide. Welp, tomorrow it looks like I’ll have to take a taxi home from work, crap!!!

Not wearing a hot ass backpack reduces the amount of sweat on my shoulders and feels great! I must say it was well worth the 32 bucks for that little bugger! Now I can ride almost naked without being weighed down. Whoopee!

First and foremost I’ll have to say my favorite celebrity of all time has to be the lovely Lucy Liu. Of coarse she’s a knock out, but I’m not making that statement just because she’s a far out groovy chick, but only because all her movie characters are simply awesome. However, I wasn’t much of a fan of the TV series Ally McBeal, but loved her in “Play it to the Bone, Kill Bill, Charley’s Angles” and was totally blown away with her snake scene in Flypaper. Lucy Liu has that rock star status every time she pops up in any film, even if it just for a few seconds.

The Blues Brothers does indeed top the list of my favorite film of all time, so why not add John Belushi & Dan Aykroyd to my list of favorite celebrities of all time. Both John and Dan had block buster hits apart from one another, but the two comedians from the 70′s Saturday Night Live era together made the best damn piece of film nostalgia ever produced. Just writing about this movie makes me want to see this all over again. On another note, probably the only musical I could ever stomach.

The late David Carradine is a guy who could kick your ass but never brag about it. Playing the humble character as the Sholin Temple monk in the legendary TV series “kung Fu,” he went on to other great films, martial art related and many not. The list is too long for me to write. I would of loved to had seen the never going to be released film “Stretch” that was apparently going to be shot in Bangkok. While on location making that film Carradine was found dead hanging by a rope naked in his Bangkok hotel room’s closet. Rest in peace David Carradine.

Jack Lord, or Detective Steve McGarrett in Hawaii Five-0 was most definitely the best cop ever portrayed on American television. Lord played the classy swift detective that so many tried to imitate but never duplicated. The show always gave me a tropical Hawaiian crime fighting flavor from the beginning to end with that kick ass theme song. The show aired twelve seasons from 1968 to 1980. They just don’t make Television like they did back then, and Hawaii Five-0 was the best of its time.
Click the arrow to play the Hawaii Five-0 theme song!

Michael Richards, AKA Cosmo Kramer has to fall somewhere on my list of Hollywood favorites. Although I’ll admit I never really focused on his career outside of Seinfeld, no less Kramer was truly a hilarious class act. Many would agree that it would be very difficult for Richards to achieve main stream success again. In 2006 Richards made some extreme racial remarks on stage after being heckled by two African American men. Despite the racial slurs Richards made, it still doesn’t stop me from watching Seinfeld reruns and laughing my ass off at Kramer. At any rate Michael “Kramer” Richards is truly an original funny guy.

Wtf!, more than a month ago I’ve order two pair of glasses from the optical department at JC Penny’s. After a solid 10 working days I’ve finally received my 2 pairs of glasses. One pair was in perfect condition while the other pair was totally deformed with a broken hinge on the side. So the sales lady told me to keep that pair while she orders me a new one. She said when they arrive she’ll just put the lens from the broken frames into the new ones. Okay, after two weeks of waiting I finally decided to stop in to see if my new frames were ready. When I asked she stated that they were special edition frames so they’ll talk a little longer. Alright, after another two weeks and numerous phone calls, as of today I called the place again. She told me she couldn’t get into the computer at the moment, perhaps she was helping another customer? She told me she would call before the days over. It’s past 6pm and i haven’t heard from them yet. I want my money back!

Yeap, my two year contract with Verizon had finally expired forcing me to retire my beloved LG Dare. This Droid X is pretty freaking huge compared to most, and if not all touch screen phones on gods green earth, nonetheless still fits comfortably in my pocket. It kinda reminds me of one of those old PDA devices with a touchscreen. I sometimes feel a tad bit embarrassed pulling it out it public due to its enormous size.

Being that I’m an owner of a iPod touch 3rd generation, which runs nearly bug free on Apple’s OS4. I must admit the Android 2.2 operating system that runs on the Droid X has all sorts of bugs, but not enough to make you throw it against the wall. Comparing it to my iPod touch, which is basically an iPhone without the phone, the Droid X has a much better web browsing experience. At any rate the Droid X is a great smart phone but I still prefer my iPod to play music.

Looks like it is time for me to pump up the bicycle tires and bike to work. The Tucson city bus drivers and mechanics decided to go on strike yesterday after the Tucson bus company “suntran” declared no wage increases to their employees’ and offered only to cover future increases in their insurance premiums. I guess that pissed the union off big time. Welp, looks like there won’t be any bus services on the route I usually take to work. My heart goes out to the thousands of people who relay on taking the bus everyday. Luckily for me I am already an avid bicyclist on my days off so biking won’t pose much of a problem, but to everyone else, “MY GOD!!! $20 dollar taxi rides can add up. I surely hope we have a mild monsoon season this august. No doubt biking in the mud and rain is funner than hell, but if you wear a dress shirt, pants and tie it could be quite a mess.

Updated: August 11, 2010
Finally it looks as if the bus system is now resuming their regular daily schedule. Hey, I actually enjoyed biking to work for the 7 days they were striking. You know, I just might decide to bike all the way everyday regardless of their comeback.

Ouch! Can you freaking believe I’ve sprained my wrist in the same place on two different occasions; AND!!! all in the same damn month! Both sprains occurred while riding my mountain bike at night. The first incident occurred while jumping up a curb stone jerking my handlebars too fast. While going up the curb I rapidly twisting my right arm causing the painful sprain. The pain lasted approximately three full weeks. Now my wrist felt 80% better so I then decided to go out on another late night adventure. (OK, I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP!) While riding on University Blvd there was this college kid by himself viewing porn on his 17 inch mac book pro. The screen was illuminating obscene content on the dark street. While quickly turning my head at this idiot’s computer my tire got caught between the train track rails in the center of the road causing me to crash! My right hand hit the pavement causing further injury and re-spraining my wrist all over again. WTF!!!
